Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
This course introduces and explains the standards that support the implementation of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). It spreads awareness and advances full participation of people with disabilities in all aspects, serving as a guide on how you and your employees can support the special needs of people with disabilities. Covers accessibility standards for information and communications, employment, transportation, and the built environment. Aerial Lift Training
Aerial lifting devices are used throughout construction, industry, and warehousing. This program focuses on the safe operation of self-propelled elevated work platforms and boom-supported elevated work platforms. Once the online course is successfully completed, a certificate will be printed and must be signed by a competent individual verifying that a hands-on practical evaluation has been completed within your facility. Confined Spaces Awareness
Working in confined spaces is an everyday occurrence in many occupations. When spaces are properly identified, assessed, and entry plans are developed and followed, work can be completed safely and efficiently. This program provides participants with the information needed to understand the potential hazards of working in confined spaces and the elements necessary to control those hazards prior to entry. Upon successful completion, a certificate will be issued automatically. Fall Protection
This program provides participants with an understanding of their responsibilities when working in areas where fall hazards exist, the use and inspection of required equipment, and the critical controls necessary to reduce the risk of a fall. Upon successful completion, a certificate will be issued automatically. This course does not meet legislated requirements. Fire Safety
This program provides participants with the knowledge necessary to prevent fires in the workplace, focusing on the basic elements of fire prevention and protection. Upon successful completion, a certificate will be issued automatically. Who needs Fire Safety Training? Every business needs a structured approach towards fire safety — far beyond placing extinguishers and running an annual drill. This course should be taken by every employee to mitigate the effects of a fire. Should a fire occur, provincial inspectors will check whether effective preventative measures, including employee training, were in place. Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Awareness
This course provides participants with the information required to properly recognize, assess, and control hazards associated with H2S gas, including its properties, health hazards, detection and monitoring methods, and acceptable exposure limits. This is an awareness course only. Workers likely to come into contact with H2S in the Oil and Gas industry should also take the full H2S Alive course, though this online course serves as useful preparation. Incident Investigation
This course provides managers, supervisors, committee members, and health and safety representatives with a proper foundation and understanding of accident causation and prevention. An investigation is conducted to meet legal compliance and, more importantly, to determine root cause and prevent re-occurrences. The procedure includes: securing and managing the scene, notifying authorities, identifying and interviewing witnesses, analyzing evidence, determining cause, and reporting and follow-up. Ladder Safety
Step ladders, portable ladders, extension ladders, and fixed ladders all carry a risk of injury. This course teaches you and your employees how to safely use ladders, identify a defective ladder, and manage different ladder types including trestle, wooden, and access ladders across a variety of industries. Lift Truck
Forklifts and lift trucks are used to move and handle material safely and efficiently in many environments. This course makes participants aware of their legal responsibilities and provides the required information to achieve the theory portion of becoming a competent operator. Once completed, a certificate will be printed and must be signed by a competent individual verifying that a hands-on practical evaluation has been completed within your facility. Lockout / Tagout
Failure to control the release of hazardous energy while servicing and maintaining equipment can cause some of the most severe workplace injuries. Locking out means physically placing a lock onto an energy-isolating device to achieve a zero-energy state. Lockout typically involves:
This program ensures employers, management, and workers understand the hazards associated with uncontrolled energy and proper control methods. Upon successful completion, a certificate will be issued automatically. Manual Material Handling (MMH)
Whether your business is in construction, an office, a restaurant, or a manufacturing plant, MMH training can be beneficial. This course helps reduce repetitive strain injury, musculoskeletal injury, and manual lifting injuries. It explores common causes and controls of MSDs and introduces participants to safe working procedures for handling material without injury. Related terms include RSI, CTD, WMSD, MSI, OOS, and sprain & strain. Transportation of Dangerous Goods
Transporting dangerous goods involves federally and locally regulated guidelines that dictate how these goods must be transported and how to use an Emergency Response Plan. This program provides participants with an understanding of the hazards and regulatory requirements associated with dangerous goods controlled products. This course is required for companies who ship by road and/or rail only. Upon successful completion, a certificate will be issued automatically. Worker Health & Safety Awareness Training
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training is mandatory for all workers in Ontario regardless of industry. Although the Ministry of Labour offers a free course, they don't keep training records for you — this course meets ministry standards while keeping all trainee records on file. This course educates workers on the rights and responsibilities in the workplace for employees, managers, supervisors, and employers, including duties in the Internal Responsibility System and rights about workplace hazards. Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS)
Mishandling of hazardous materials can have disastrous consequences. This course provides WHMIS certification and, more importantly, gives participants the foundation for using knowledge to prevent accidental and long-term exposure to harmful workplace materials. Upon successful completion, a certificate will be issued automatically. Workplace Inspection
Unidentified hazards and poorly conducted inspections can lead to catastrophic losses. An inspection is a planned walk-through of a workplace or work site designed to help meet compliance with the law and identify and control factors that can cause injury or illness. Routine inspections are a critical component of a good accident, occupational disease, and fire prevention program. Workplace Violence and Harassment
Workplace violence and harassment can have immediate and lasting effects on a person's physical and mental health, resulting in physical injuries and emotional trauma to victims, their families, and co-workers. All workplace parties need to properly recognize incidents of violence and harassment and react appropriately. This course provides learners with the tools to recognize and react appropriately to incidents of workplace violence and harassment, contributing to a workplace culture that rejects all forms of harassment and violence. |
