Originally created in 2001 as the Construction Sector Council, BuildForce Canada is a national industry-led organization committed to working with the construction industry to provide information and resources to assist with its management of workforce requirements.
The mandate of BuildForce Canada is to provide accurate and timely labour market information (LMI) to advance the needs of the entire construction industry. Course Outline:
This course is designed to teach and
familiarize owners, managers, supervisors and project managers with
construction contracts and construction law; liabilities and
responsibilities of all parties to a Contract, compiling and submitting
proper extras and claims, and ways and means for leaders to avoid
conflict with contracts, owners, trades, and labour.
Course Objectives:
This course will provide managers with the tools to help them:
- Understand construction contracts
- Recognize the different construction roles
- Write contracts
- Identify simple errors in construction contracts
- Understand the claim process
- Learn to solve construction disputes effectively
Credits/Certificates:
This course has been accredited by the Canadian Construction Association (CCA) to award two (2) credits towards Gold Seal Certification upon successful completion of this course. A final mark of 75% is required in order to receive a certificate of completion.
