| Presenter: Matt Ainley, Chair General Contractors Alliance of Canada
Matt Ainley is a construction builder and consultant with 40 years experience in the Canadian Institutional, Commercial and Industrial construction marketplace who has held senior management and leadership positions with Bird Construction, Carillion Canada and Vanbots Construction.
Throughout his career, Matt has developed extensive conflict resolution experience at all levels within the construction supply chain. He has a thorough understanding of construction contracts with owners, trade contractors suppliers and consultants and the various types of conflicts that occur. Project experience includes hospitals, pharmaceutical and laboratories, office and retail, condominiums, interior fit outs, colleges and universities, transportation, manufacturing and public private projects. Matt is the Chair of the General Contractors Alliance of Canada, a certified Adjudicator in Ontario, Chair of Scarborough Hospital Network, and a past Chair of the Ontario General Contractors Association. | 
| Presenter: Robert Garven, Revay and Associates, Director Central Canada
Robert Garven joined Revay in 2012 after receiving his Bachelor of Civil Engineering from McGill University. In 2020, he received his Master of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, graduating on the Dean’s List with the title of Bregman Scholar. Robert specializes in the preparation and defense of construction claims for both owners and contractors. He has prepared expert reports for mediations and arbitrations and has also taken part in mediations and settlement negotiations. His areas of expertise include delay analyses, productivity analysis, and damage quantification. Robert has also worked extensively in reviewing, preparing, and negotiating change orders for contractors and owners. Since joining Revay, Robert has taken part in a variety of large-scale infrastructure projects, power plants, mining facilities and transmission line projects, working across Canada and internationally. | 
| Presenter: Rod Gilbert, Canadian Construction Association
Rod Gilbert is the Senior Vice-President, Public Affairs and Procurement Practices at the Canadian Construction Association (CCA). Since his appointment in February 2018, he has led the CCA’s internal and external communications, government relations and membership management, and more recently the industry practices group. His mandate is to continue to work with CCA stakeholders, specifically in the public sector, to inspire a progressive, innovative, and sustainable construction industry that consistency acts with integrity. Prior to CCA, Mr. Gilbert worked for over 21 years both with and for the Federal Government. During this time, he worked for 10 years as a political advisor to several federal ministers including President of the Treasury Board and Ministers of Heritage, Human Resources, and Skills Development and Industry. After leaving government, he spent four years working for a Crown corporation investment fund in Montreal. He later founded RGGR, a government relations firm specialized in developing and executing strategic public affairs plans tailored to small and medium sized businesses. Mr. Gilbert holds a degree in Political Science (BAH) from Laval University and is fluently bilingual. |

Lianne is a construction law practitioner and her areas of professional focus include Construction Law, Construction Lien Disputes, Construction Deficiencies & Breach of Contract Disputes, Bankruptcy and Insolvency, and Business and Contractual Disputes. Lianne is a Director at the LDCA and is also President of the London-Middlesex Law Association. |
