| | | | | | | | | Beyond Compliance: Fostering a Proactive Safety Culture | | | With speaker andrea barnes, elgin contracting | | | DescriptionThe goal of this session is to move beyond mere compliance to fostering a true safety culture where leaders learn to lead by example and conduct proactive risk identification. Why It Matters
Safety is not just a policy; it's a culture. Leaders are responsible for creating an environment where every team member is empowered to prioritize safety and speak up about potential risks. Key Learnings- Leading by Example: Demonstrating a personal commitment to safety that sets the tone for the entire team.
Creating a Speak-Up Culture: Building an environment where team members feel safe reporting hazards or mistakes without fear of blame. Accident Investigation: Understanding how to conduct a thorough and unbiased investigation to learn from incidents and prevent future ones. Proactive Risk Identification: Moving beyond standard checklists to actively identifying and mitigating site-specific risks.
