| | | Meet the Presenter | | | Ralph Lembcke, R. Lembcke Associates P. GSC. Navigating the world of construction is a complicated process. The industry has its own language, culture and conventions. Who better to help you chart a course than someone with over 40 years experience both as a contractor and as a college level construction professor? Ralph combines practical knowledge with proven communication skills to provide you with no-nonsense, clear, concise and, occasionally humorous, learning experiences for a well-rounded understanding of our complicated industry. Ralph holds a certificate in Construction Engineering Technology and Management from Fanshawe College, a teaching certificate from St. Clair College and a Professional Gold Seal certification from the Canadian Construction Association. His career has taken him from estimator to project manager, from self-employed contractor to a 30+ year career as a professor with the Donald J. Smith School of Building Technology at Fanshawe College in London, where he still teaches part-time. He was a 25 year member of the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyor (PQS - Professional Quantity Surveyor) and is currently a charter member of the Construction and Design Educators Council of Canada. Ralph also conducts professional development audits for companies wishing to invest in their employee base through industry related and specific training. Construction contracts, quantity surveying, estimating, construction risk management and building economics are his primary areas of expertise. His technical articles have appeared in many SunMedia publications as well as Our Homes magazine and several construction association magazines. A mid-century modern enthusiast, he also enjoys researching, presenting and writing on the subject of mid-century architecture. He has written for internationally renowned Atomic Ranch magazine, and he has spoken on the subject at several venues. In retirement, he is an avid air gunner, gun collector and dabbles in mid-century-themed architectural sculpture. Contact Ralph anytime at rlembckeassociates@gmail.com | | | | | |
