Originally created in 2001 as the Construction Sector Council, BuildForce Canada is a national industry-led organization committed to working with the construction industry to provide information and resources to assist with its management of workforce requirements.

 

The mandate of BuildForce Canada is to provide accurate and timely labour market information (LMI) to advance the needs of the entire construction industry. BuildForce Canada will lead value-added programs and initiatives that build the capacity and the capability of the construction workforce to meet current and future industry demand to drive economic growth in Canada.

 


Confined Spaces Safety Awareness (approx.3 hrs - online self paced)

Cost $110.00

 

Course Outline:

This course will introduce you to the types of confined spaces and the associated hazards. You will learn about the activities within a confined space, and codes of practice. Different types of hazard controls are presented including engineering, administrative, and protective equipment.

 

Course Objectives:

This course will provide:

  • Identify the types of confined spaces
  • Recognize the potential hazards
  • Assess and control the hazards
  • Understand your roles and responsibilities prior to entry, while working, and on leaving a confined space

 

Credits/Certificates:

This course has been accredited by the Canadian Construction Association (CCA) to award one (1) credit towards Gold Seal Certification upon successful completion of this course. A final mark of 75% is required in order to receive a certificate of completion.
