Aerial lifting devices are typically used throughout construction, industry, and warehousing. However, the versatility and safety factors incorporated into these devices allow them to be utilized in almost any environment.
Our Aerial Lift Training Program will focus on the safe operation of self propelled elevated work platforms and self propelled boom supported elevated work platforms. Once the online course has been successfully completed, a certificate will be printed and must be signed in the space provided by a competent individual verifying that a hands-on practical evaluation has been completed within your facility.
What is Aerial Lift?
Aerial lift devices are often referred to by different names: Aerial Work Platforms, Scissor Lifts, Articulating Boom Lifts, Genie Lifts, and Zoom Booms.
Who needs Aerial Lift Training in Canada?
Any person who uses these devices should receive Aerial Lift Training in order to be designated as a competent person. Every worker operating an aerial lifting device must undergo training in compliance with CSA 354.2-01 Self Propelled Work Platforms. Many provinces also require that training on the theory of operating these devices be complemented by practical training by an instructor.
Will trainees require a practical test as well as the theory provided by your course?
The LDCA recommends (and most provinces insist) that operators receive a practical test carried out by a competent person following the course. Unfortunately, the regulations are not specific about the required qualifications of those deemed to be ‘competent’. CSA standards require that only qualified persons who have been trained regarding the inspection, operation, and application of an aerial platform, including the recognition and avoidance of hazards associated with the operation, shall operate an aerial platform.

Working in confined spaces is an everyday occurrence in many occupations. When these spaces are properly identified, assessed, entry plans are developed and are followed, work performed within a confined space can be completed safely and efficiently.
Our Confined Space program will provide participants with the
information needed to understand the potential hazards of working in
these spaces and the elements necessary to control those hazards prior

Who needs Confined Space Awareness Training?
Anyone working in or around an area of the workplace designated as a Confined Space should be trained at the awareness level. The employer has the duty to ensure that the confined space awareness training is adequate to protect the health and safety of the workers who work in or around the confined space.
Those who actually perform the Hazard Assessment, create the Confined Space Entry program, enter or attend a Confined Space, or supervise an entry will require further training.
Some provinces, such as Ontario require an annual review of the confined space training program.
What constitutes a Confined Space?
The legal definition of a confined space varies slightly according to provincial regulations. These are summarized by the CCOHS (Canadian Center for Occupational Health & Safety) as an enclosed or partially enclosed space that:
Confined spaces can be below or above ground. Confined spaces can be found in almost any workplace. A confined space, despite its name, is not necessarily small. Examples of confined spaces include silos, vats,hoppers, utility vaults, tanks, sewers, pipes, access shafts, truck or rail tank cars, and aircraft wings. Ditches and trenches may also be a confined space when access or exit is limited. More information can be found here.
How often must workers be trained in Confined space entry?
The LDCA recommends a maximum of 2 years. A periodic reminder of safety practices is a wise precaution for due diligence purposes.

Who needs a Fire Safety Training course?

What is WHMIS?
What is WHMIS – The letters W-H-M-I-S stand for Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System. WHMIS is a Canada-wide hazard communication system. The purpose of WHMIS is to ensure that workers have the information they need to work safely with hazardous materials at the workplace.

Routine inspections are therefore a critical component of a good accident, occupational disease and fire prevention program.
