The purpose of the London Builders' Exchange, conceived in 1898, remains the same; to provide leadership to all members through advocacy, education, innovation and support. It is funded and governed entirely by its members and serves to benefit not only the members, but the entire construction industry.
In 1966, the association re branded from London Builders' Exchange to London and District Construction Association.
The LDCA continues to bring together into one organization, union and non-union, general contractors, trade contractors, manufacturers and suppliers of construction material and equipment, and other firms associated with the construction industry. Representing a diverse membership; within the city of London and the surrounding counties of Bruce, Elgin, Haldimand-Norfolk, Huron, Middlesex, Oxford, and Perth, the LDCA has built a respected reputation in business, government and labour circles for advocating and maintaining sound reasonable policies consistent with the public welfare and the interests of the construction industry.
